Connect your property to Tripadvisor in Settings > Channel Manager > TripConnect to use Sponsored Placements Direct, TripConnect Cost per Click, TripConnect Instant Booking and Tripadvisor Review Express. Each of these needs a certified connectivity partner such as Beds24.

Map your property to Tripadvisor
To use Sponsored Placements Direct, TripConnect or Review Express, your property must be mapped to Tripadvisor.
- Go to Settings > Channel Manager > TripConnect.
- Set Synchronise to Notify or to one of the Booking options.
- Enter your Tripadvisor ID in Property Code. This is usually the number after the d in the URL of your Tripadvisor page. Without the right ID, Tripadvisor may not be able to identify your property.
- Click View Mapping Status to see the data Beds24 sends to Tripadvisor and your mapping status.
- If the data doesn't match what you entered in the Tripadvisor extranet, click Edit Mapping Data and correct it.
Expected result: Tripadvisor shows your property as mapped. It can take Tripadvisor up to 48 hours to read the data Beds24 sends.
Tip: If you're still not mapped after 48 hours, click View Mapping Status, copy the information there and send it to Tripadvisor to ask them to fix the problem.
Use Sponsored Placements Direct
Beds24 sends prices and availability to Tripadvisor. Bookings are made on your website, and bookings made on the Beds24 booking page are imported automatically.
- Join the programme in your Tripadvisor account.
- In Settings > Channel Manager > TripConnect, set Synchronise to one of the Booking options. Notify only tells Tripadvisor you can join its programmes through Beds24 and doesn't send prices.
- Make sure your Tripadvisor ID is in Property Code and your property is mapped.
Use TripConnect Cost per Click
Beds24 sends your prices and a link to your booking page. Guests book with your own booking engine.
- Join the programme in your Tripadvisor account.
- In Settings > Channel Manager > TripConnect, set Synchronise to one of the Booking options. Notify doesn't send prices.
- Make sure your Tripadvisor ID is in Property Code and your property is mapped.
- Check that API currency in Settings > Properties > Description matches the prices you enter in Beds24. This is the currency sent to TripConnect.

Use TripConnect Instant Booking
Warning: Tripadvisor has closed this service to new customers. Existing connections should keep working.
Tripadvisor shows your prices and availability, and guests complete the booking on the Tripadvisor website.
Capabilities and limitations
- Beds24 sends prices, availability and descriptive information about your property, and imports bookings and cancellations. See Channel Manager Capabilities.
- Tripadvisor starts the data exchange: it requests prices and availability, and Beds24 sends the data for the requested dates. Beds24 can't push data without a request from Tripadvisor.
- If several rooms with different occupancies are booked, Tripadvisor applies the highest occupancy price to all of them.
- If your booking type collects a deposit, Tripadvisor collects the guest's card details. You then charge the deposit to the card manually.
- Tripadvisor requires a confirmation to be sent to the guest. Beds24 sends your normal booking confirmation.
- Instant Booking is only available to guests booking from the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore and South Africa.
Tripadvisor requirements
Go to Settings > Channel Manager > TripConnect > Content Data to see the information Tripadvisor needs for Instant Booking. Tripadvisor doesn't accept your data without room descriptions, a general policy and a cancellation policy. Check that these are filled in and correct:
- Cancellation policy text: specific to the offer sent to Tripadvisor. Tripadvisor doesn't accept ambiguous policies.
- General policy text: your check-in and check-out policy.
- Room descriptions.
- Pictures: at least one property picture and one picture per room, active in Settings > Booking Engine > Pictures.
- State: for Brazil, Greece and the US, the state in Settings > Properties > Description > Address is mandatory. Without it, your data isn't transferred.
What Beds24 sends

Set up Instant Booking
- Join the programme in your Tripadvisor account. Check if you're eligible.
- Enter your Tripadvisor ID in Property Code. If you have several properties in the same Beds24 account, enter the same Tripadvisor code for all of them. When Tripadvisor requests a price for that code, Beds24 sends prices for all these properties, and they show on Tripadvisor as different room options of your Tripadvisor property.
- Make sure your property is mapped.
- Set Synchronise to Bookings to send the final price including compulsory upsell items, or to Bookings (no upsell) to leave them out.
- Log in to your Tripadvisor account and make sure Instant Booking is activated.
Note: If you used Instant Booking through another provider before, Tripadvisor might need to delete some information in your account. Contact Tripadvisor support for help.
Use Tripadvisor Review Express
One day after check-out, Beds24 sends the booking details to Tripadvisor, and Tripadvisor emails the guest to ask for a review. You can choose which rooms take part and turn review requests off for individual bookings.
Limitations
- Tripadvisor needs the guest's country of residence for legal reasons. The Beds24 booking page has a standard Country (Selector) question. For bookings from other sources, add the country manually.
- The booking must have a valid email address.
- Your property must be mapped.
Set up Review Express
- Opt in to Review Express at Tripadvisor.
- In Settings > Channel Manager > TripConnect, select a Review Express option (Review Express only, or Review Express with Bookings) for the rooms you want to include.
- Set Review Express to collect reviews for all bookings (default) or Only enabled bookings.
- Make sure your Tripadvisor ID is in Property Code and your property is mapped.
- Add Country (Selector) as a compulsory question to your booking page in Settings > Properties > Booking Questions. This is recommended.
- Show a data-sharing statement on your booking page, see Data protection.
When review invitations are sent
Invitations are sent the day after check-out, only for rooms that are opted in. They're not sent if:
- the booking is cancelled
- the email address is missing or invalid
- the country of residence is missing
- Allow Reviews on the Mail tab of the booking is set to Disable
Note: If Review Express = Enabled only, set Allow Reviews = Activate in each booking you want a review for.
Data protection
You must comply with your local privacy and data protection laws. Tripadvisor requires each guest to consent to their data being shared with third parties before they receive Review Express emails. Show a prominent statement on your booking page where the guest data is collected. Tripadvisor recommends this statement:
We may use third-party service providers to process your personal information on our behalf for the purposes specified above. For example, we may share some information about you with these third parties so that they can contact you directly by email (for example: to obtain post stay reviews about your travel experience).
