Setting Prices for Booking Channels

Each channel has its own rules for which prices it accepts. You choose which Daily Prices and Fixed Prices go to which channels, map them to the channel's rate codes, and can add a multiplier. Prices > Channel Mapping shows where each price is used.

Quick Guide

  1. Check which pricing model your channel supports (see below and the Channel pricing reference).
  2. Enable your Daily Prices or Fixed Prices for the channel.
  3. Map each price to the channel rate code, if the channel uses rate codes.
  4. Check the result in Prices > Channel Mapping.

Table of Contents

  2. Send Daily Prices to channels
  3. Send Fixed Prices to channels

Pricing models

Channels use one or more of these pricing models. Some also support rate plans or rate codes (for example Agoda, Booking.com, Expedia and other hotel channels), so you can sell at several prices. For the details per channel, see the Channel pricing reference and Channel Manager Capabilities.

Pricing model What is sent Example channels
Occupancy pricing Prices for different occupancies. Fixed Prices: single, double and room price are sent; the room price is sent for its set occupancy; several Fixed Prices with different occupancies can go to the same rate plan. Daily Prices: sent including occupancy, several occupancy prices per rate plan, extra person price is sent. Agoda, Expedia
Occupancy and length of stay pricing A price for each occupancy defined in Beds24 and prices for different lengths of stay. Otherwise as occupancy pricing, for both Fixed Prices and Daily Prices. Airbnb, Vrbo
Per day pricing Only one price per date. If several prices with different minimum stays are enabled for the channel, the price with the lowest minimum stay is sent. With Daily Prices with an extra person price, set the Daily Price for the maximum occupancy and the extra person price as a negative value, so the full-occupancy price is sent. Airbnb, Booking.com, Trip, Vrbo, Hostelworld, HRS, Tripadvisor Rentals
Derived or linked prices The channel derives prices from a price Beds24 sends, or links prices. You can't control all prices from Beds24. Booking.com, Expedia

Note: with Fixed Prices, Extra Person, Extra Child and discounts from the Discounts tab are never sent. Beds24 sends prices for up to 16 guests. If your property sleeps more than 16, use per day pricing with an extra person price.

Send Daily Prices to channels

Daily Prices are recommended. Each Daily Price can be used for any combination of channels and your booking page.

Enable tick boxes for channels in the Daily Price settings

Steps:

  1. Go to Prices > Daily Price Rules and click Edit on the price.
  2. Under Enable, tick the channels the price is used for. For a booking page only price, tick only Beds24.
  3. If the channel has several rate codes, enter the rate code for this Daily Price.
  4. Go to the Calendar and enter your prices.

Expected result: the price is listed for the channel in Prices > Channel Mapping.

Example: one Daily Price with only Beds24 ticked for your booking page, and a second Daily Price with only the channels ticked.

Tip: by default, Daily Prices are disabled for all channels. To enable or disable channels for all prices of a room at once, click the user icon at the top right, then Account Management > Manage Account > Manage Properties > Manage Rooms > Channels. In the old control panel, use Sub Account at the top right.

Send Fixed Prices to channels

Only prices per night can be sent, so set Price per to Night in the Summary tab. The Channels tab sets where the Fixed Price is used.

Channels tab of a Fixed Price

  • For your website only, untick all channels.
  • For channel management only, untick Beds24 and Beds24 Agents.

Steps for a separate channel price:

  1. Go to Prices > Fixed Prices and click Add Fixed Price.
  2. Make sure Prices per is set to Night.
  3. In the Channels tab, untick Beds24 and tick the channels the price is sent to.

For your website price, create another Fixed Price with Beds24 ticked and the other channels unticked.

The Strategy of a Fixed Price sets how it combines with others:

  • Allow lower prices: the default. The lowest price for the guest's selection always applies.
  • Do not allow lower prices: with several Fixed Prices, this blocks only this Fixed Price.
  • Do not allow any other prices: with several Fixed Prices, this blocks all other Fixed Prices.

Send a different price with the export price:

  1. Open the Fixed Price and go to the Channels tab.
  2. Enter the price for the channels in Export Price.
  3. Set Channel Management to Use Export Price.

Tip: by default, Fixed Prices are enabled for all channels. You can enable or disable channels for all prices of a room at once in Account Management > Manage Account > Manage Properties > Manage Rooms > Channels.

Use Daily Prices and Fixed Prices together

If you use both, the system offers the lowest available price that meets all your rules.

Map channel rate codes

A rate code entered in a Daily Price or Fixed Price is used for that price. If the field is empty, the rate code in the channel manager settings is used, and the offer number of the price decides which rate code.

Prerequisites: the connection to the channel is set up, and your property and room codes for the channel are saved. See the setup instructions for your channel.

Steps:

  1. Click Get Code next to the rate ID setting. Beds24 retrieves the list of rate IDs for the room from the channel.
  2. Click the rate ID for this room, normally the standard rate.
  3. When the rate ID is copied into the setting, click Save.

Some channels accept more than one price per room, for example for different occupancies, minimum stays, meal options, or refundable and non-refundable prices. Each channel's help page explains what it supports.

  • Daily Prices: each Daily Price can be mapped to any active channel rate code. In Prices > Daily Price Rules, click Edit and, under Enable, select the rate code from the Get Codes list. If you leave it blank, the rate code in the channel manager settings is used.
  • Fixed Prices: each Fixed Price can be mapped to any active channel rate code. In the Channels tab, select the rate code from the Get Codes list. If you leave it blank, the rate code in the channel manager settings is used. If the Fixed Price is linked to other offers or rooms, use the selector to choose the room to map.

Add a price multiplier

For many channels you can add a multiplier to your prices, for example because the channel needs a different currency from your Beds24 currency, or to add the commission to your prices. For some channels, Beds24 can also convert the prices of imported bookings back to your Beds24 currency.

Check the instructions for your channel. If they don't mention a multiplier, send a support ticket (click Help at the top right of the channel page in the control panel) and Beds24 will check whether it can be added.

Note: prices are only sent to the channels you have activated in the channel manager settings.
