Webhooks

Webhooks are small messages Beds24 sends from its server to yours, so your server can act in a timely manner, for example to retrieve a new booking via API. Beds24 has four kinds: version 1 and version 2 booking webhooks, auto action webhooks and inventory webhooks.

Note: Webhooks are asynchronous. There can be a small, variable delay between a change and the webhook being sent (expect an average delay of one minute), so they aren't an instant notification.

Webhook types

Webhook What it does Set up in
Version 1 booking webhook GET request on a new booking or a modification to an existing booking Settings > Properties > Access
Version 2 booking webhook POST request that can contain the booking data as JSON Settings > Properties > Access > Booking webhooks
Auto action webhook Sent when an auto action triggers Settings > Guest Management > Auto Actions
Inventory webhook Sent when room inventory or price changes Settings > Marketplace > Webhooks

Version 1 booking webhook

V1 booking webhooks use the GET method and are triggered by a new booking or a modification to an existing booking. Set them up in Settings > Properties > Access.

Webhook URLs are specified per property, so you can include information that identifies the property in the URL:

https://yourdomain.com/page?property=1
https://yourdomain.com/page?property=2
https://yourdomain.com/page?property=3

You can also use template variables in the URL:

https://yourdomain.com/page?property=[PROPERTYID]

Warning: Make sure any information a template variable adds to the URL is suitable for a URL. For example, guest names may contain characters that aren't allowed in URLs and can make the webhook fail.

Version 2 booking webhook

V2 booking webhooks use the POST method. They can contain the booking data as a JSON object in their body, so in many cases you don't need an additional API call after receiving the webhook. Enable them in Settings > Properties > Access > Booking webhooks.

See the API V2 booking webhook documentation.

Auto action webhook

Triggered when an auto action triggers. Set it up in Settings > Guest Management > Auto Actions. See Auto Actions.

Inventory webhook

Triggered when room inventory or price changes. Set it up in Settings > Marketplace > Webhooks. See Inventory Webhooks.
