Voucher codes give guests a discount when they enter a phrase or code at the time of booking. Set them up in Settings > Booking Engine > Voucher Codes: codes that can be used many times, for promotions or loyalty offers, and one-time codes, for example gift vouchers.
Warning: Don't use Use Prices from in Settings > Properties > Rooms > Dependencies if you have voucher codes, because it can cause issues with applying the code.
Warning: Don't use special characters in the voucher code or phrase.

Voucher codes that can be used multiple times
Codes set in Apply this discount if phrase entered with booking can be used multiple times. Use them, for example, for loyalty discounts for certain customers or a marketing campaign with bonus discounts for people in the know. You can define several phrases for each discount, separated by commas.
- If a discount is compulsory, the phrase must be entered to make a booking. Guests who don't enter it can't book.
- You can deactivate discount codes for a Daily Price or Fixed Price (for Fixed Prices, in the Discounts tab).
- If a booking has more than one Fixed Price, the voucher code applies to the whole booking if any of the Fixed Prices allows the code.
- If a guest books several rooms, a Fixed Amount voucher code applies to each room.
Discounts on upsell items
Voucher codes can apply to the room price, to upsell items, or both.
- On upsell items, the voucher code applies only to items that appear before the first obligatory percentage upsell item.
- If there's no obligatory percentage upsell item, the code applies to all upsell items.
See Upsell Items: Order of the items.
One-time voucher codes
Codes created under One Time Use Voucher Codes can be used only once, for example as gift vouchers or goodies for certain guests. Once a code is redeemed, it's deleted from the list. One-time codes apply to all prices without restrictions.
- You can define the same one-time code several times. Each time it's used, the first one in the list is deleted. Once all are deleted, the code is no longer available.
Tip: To create a large number of vouchers, prepare them in Excel and copy and paste them.
Tip: When you issue a voucher as a discount on a cancelled booking, use the booking number as the code. If the guest books with the voucher, take the code from the Rate description field in the Charges and Payments tab of the new booking to find the original booking. Then combine both into a group booking with Add existing booking to group in the Invoice tab.
Voucher codes for multiple properties
Set up voucher codes for use on several properties in Settings > Booking Engine > Multiple Properties. If you also use the same code on a property, it's available twice and is removed from the property first.
