Capabilities and limitations

  • Beds24 shows your availability on visitscotland.com. Guests book directly on your own booking page.
  • VisitScotland requires a tracking script and a newsletter link on your booking confirmation page. See the steps below.

For the full list, see Channel Manager Capabilities. For how channels work in general, see How the Channel Manager works and Setting Prices for Booking Channels.

Connect VisitScotland

You need: your Beds24 property ID (this is your VisitScotland ID) and a VisitScotland extranet login.

Step 1: Enable the rooms in Beds24

Go to Settings > Channel Manager > Visit Scotland, tick Inventory for the rooms you want to sell on VisitScotland and click Save.

Step 2: Add the tracking script

VisitScotland tracks booking confirmations with a script. Go to Settings > Booking Engine > Property Booking Page > Developers and paste this script into Confirmation Page Insert in HTML <HEAD>:

<script type="text/javascript">var utag_data = { pms_site : "Beds24", vs_id : "[REFERRER2]", price : "[PRICENC]", currency: "GBP", product_name : "[PROPERTYNAME]", product_id : "[PROPERTYID]", arrival_date : "[FIRSTNIGHTYYYY-MM-DD]", nights : "[NUMNIGHT]", adults : "[NUMADULT]", children : "[NUMCHILD]", infants : "0", booking_type : "Bed & Breakfast"}</script><script type="text/javascript"> (function(a,b,c,d){ a='//tealium.hs.llnwd.net/o43/utag/visitscotland/pms/prod/utag.js'; b=document;c='script';d=b.createElement(c);d.src=a;d.type='text/java'+c;d.async=true; a=b.getElementsByTagName(c)[0];a.parentNode.insertBefore(d,a); })();</script>

Step 3: Add the newsletter link and data-sharing notice

Go to Settings > Guest Management > Confirmation Messages and add both of these to your booking confirmation:

  1. The link to the VisitScotland newsletter:
<p align="JUSTIFY" class="western"><font face="Calibri, serif">We&rsquo;d like to help you discover more about Scotland - to find great offers, ideas and further information sign up to VisitScotland&rsquo;s e-newsletter today by clicking the following link:&nbsp;</font><a href="http://www.visitscotland.com/newsletter"><font face="Calibri, serif">http://www.visitscotland.com/newsletter</font></a></p>
  2. This notice:
Your booking details (excluding personal information and card details) will be shared with VisitScotland. VisitScotland will use this data for analysis purposes.

Step 4: Set up the integration at VisitScotland

  1. Log in to the VisitScotland extranet.
  2. Follow the VisitScotland instructions "Web Booking Integration with your VisitScotland Listing". Your ID is your Beds24 property ID.

Expected result: Your availability shows on visitscotland.com, and guests who click to book go to your Beds24 booking page.

Tip: If you don't have a VisitScotland extranet username and password, contact the VisitScotland Tourism Services Team at updates@visitscotland.com.
