Capabilities and limitations

  • Beds24 exports inventory, multiple rates, and minimum and maximum stays.
  • Beds24 sends dates closed to arrival (check-in not allowed) and closed to departure (check-out not allowed).
  • Beds24 imports bookings and cancellations. You can turn off importing cancellations for individual bookings.
  • Beds24 imports only bookings made after you connect. Enter existing bookings manually to block the dates, see Existing bookings.
  • Upsell items can't be exported.
  • Channel collect payments appear in the booking invoice if Import Channel Collect Payments = Yes in Settings > Channel Manager.

For the full list, see Channel Manager Capabilities.

Before you connect

  • Beds24 only sends availability when you have prices that are active for Trip. See Setting Prices for Booking Channels.
  • Beds24 sends one room price per Trip rate plan code.
  • Extra person and extra child prices, and discounts on the Discounts tab of fixed prices, can't be sent.
  • If you use daily prices with extra person prices, set the daily price for the maximum occupancy and add the extra person price as a negative value, so the full-occupancy price can be sent. The per-person prices aren't sent.
  • If you sell rooms individually elsewhere but as a room type with a quantity above one on Trip, set up virtual rooms.

Connect Trip

You need: your Trip hotel ID.

Step 1: Request the connection at Trip

Ask your Trip market manager to connect you to the Beds24 channel manager. If you don't know who your market manager is, contact Trip support. Once Trip has set up the connection, continue in Beds24.

Step 2: Enter your settings in Beds24

  1. Go to Settings > Channel Manager > Trip and enter your Trip hotel ID.
  2. Set the currency. If you use a different currency in Beds24, use the price multiplier.
  3. Choose the Payment Collect method: whether Trip collects the payment from the guest or the guest pays at the hotel.
  4. Set whether breakfast is included in the price.

Step 3: Map your rates

Trip doesn't use room codes. Rate plan codes identify both the room and the rate.

  1. Click Get Code next to the rate plan code setting.
  2. Click the Trip standard rate for this room.
  3. When the rate plan code is copied into the setting, click Save.

Step 4: Activate the connection

  1. Click View Actual Data to check the availability and prices Beds24 will send.
  2. Tick Inventory, Prices and Bookings.
  3. Click Save.
Inventory, Prices and Bookings tick boxes for Trip

Expected result: Beds24 sends your availability and prices to Trip and imports new bookings and cancellations. The connection works if you receive no error messages and Trip shows the right availability and prices. Changes to settings, such as the number of rooms, go with the next update, see Updates and changes.

Price multiplier

To mark your prices up or down, or convert the currency, add * and the multiplier to your hotel ID. For example, 123456*1.23 raises all prices for property 123456 by 23%, and 123456*[CONVERT:IDR-EUR][/]0.85 converts Indonesian rupiah to euros and raises the price by about 15%. See Price multiplier for all options.

Prices and rate codes

  • Only one price can be sent per rate code. If several prices active for Trip have the same rate code, Beds24 uses the price for the highest occupancy.
  • Trip can set up several rate plan codes per room, each with its own booking conditions, and you map a different Beds24 price or daily price to each one. See Map channel rate codes.
  • Because Trip doesn't use room codes, Beds24 needs every rate plan code that can be booked for each room, to import bookings into the right room.
  • For a dorm on Trip with fixed prices, set a room price with a maximum capacity of 1.

Set the rate code for a price here:

  • Daily prices: under Enable in the daily price settings (Prices > Daily Price Rules, then click Edit).
  • Fixed prices: on the Channels tab of the fixed price.

Breakfast and payment collection per price

The breakfast and payment collect settings in the channel manager apply to your most common option. To send a price with a different option, add a suffix to the Trip rate code in the channel settings of that daily price or fixed price:

Suffix Meaning
/b Breakfast included, for the maximum number of guests the room holds.
/n No breakfast.
/1 to /9 Breakfast included for that number of guests, for example /2 = 2 breakfasts included.
/c Trip collect: the guest pays Trip.
/h Hotel collect: the guest pays at the hotel.

Example: breakfast not included.

Trip rate code with the /n suffix for no breakfast

Example: the room holds 3 guests, but breakfast is included for 2.

Trip rate code with the /2 suffix for 2 breakfasts

Example: the fixed price applies to Trip collect.

Trip rate code with the /c suffix for Trip collect

Virtual credit cards and invoices

To charge Trip virtual cards automatically on the date they become valid, set Auto Process Virtual Cards = Yes. If you charge a virtual card manually, you can only do it on the check-out date.

Warning: This option needs Stripe. If you turn on virtual cards without Stripe, Beds24 creates a pending payment that can't be collected. See Stripe Channel Virtual Cards.

If bookings from Trip need a different invoice template, use Invoicees.
