Track where your bookings come from with a referrer in your booking page links and widgets, and add tracking pixels, page tracking and conversion tracking scripts (for example Google Analytics) to the booking page.

Track bookings with a referrer
Every booking has a referrer field on its Details tab. Its content is set in the link that opens the online booking page for the guest. An example link to your booking page:
http://beds24.com/booking2.php?propid=13437&referer=Beds24When a guest clicks this link, the text "Beds24" is recorded as the referrer of any resulting booking. Set referer=text to different values for different links to track which links generate your bookings.
Note: The English word referrer is spelled with two Rs, but the parameter name in the URL is referer, with one R.
- All availability calendars and booking widgets can contain the parameter
referer=text, either as a hidden parameter or in the URL, depending on the widget. - Set the referrer for a widget in Settings > Booking Engine > Booking Widgets > Referrer.

Booking logs

Tracking pixel
Tracking image pixels need to be in the <body> part of the page so they are visible. Usually the easiest way is to include the pixel as an image tag (<img>) in your on-screen booking confirmation message: Settings > Guest Management > Confirmation Messages > Period Messages > Additional Screen Content for "Normal" Bookings.
Page tracking
Page tracking (for example Google Analytics) is usually done by inserting a script into the head of every page a guest passes on the way to checkout. Insert your tracking script in Settings > Booking Engine > Multi Booking Page > Developer > Advanced HTML Settings > Insert in HTML <HEAD>.
Example of a Google Analytics tracking script:
To insert a script into the body of a page, use Settings > Booking Engine > Multi Booking Page > Layout > Property Header and Footer > Page Top > Manage > More Details Link Text.
Conversion tracking
Conversion is the final step of a sale, when a user is converted into a paying customer. Conversion tracking scripts (for example a Google Ecommerce script) are therefore only inserted into the head of the last page of the process, the confirmation page. Insert them in Settings > Booking Engine > Property Booking Page > Developer > Confirmation Page Insert in HTML <HEAD>.
Custom booking confirmation page
Set a Booking Return URL to send guests to a page on your own website instead of the standard confirmation page, so you can create a custom confirmation landing page. Information about the booking is added to the URL for you to extract and use.
- Go to Settings > Booking Engine > Booking Page > Behaviour.
- Under Redirect after Booking, enter your page in Booking Return URL.
- Place your conversion tracking scripts on your landing page.
Template variables in scripts
Use template variables in your tracking scripts to include information about the booking. This example includes the booking number [BOOKID] and price [PRICE] in a Google Ecommerce script:

Tip: The booking page is on the domain beds24.com. You may need to enable multiple domain settings in your Google admin console. See Google Cross Domain Tracking.
