Sell Remaining Single Nights

Sell nights that a minimum stay would otherwise leave empty with a gap filler: an extra Fixed Price with Restriction Strategy set to Gap Fill. It only opens a stay when there is a gap of that length between bookings.

How the gap filler works

A gap fill Fixed Price is only applied on a date if the number of consecutive available nights is less than or equal to its maximum stay. Its minimum and maximum stay set which gap lengths it can sell. Used together with your normal prices, it automatically opens nights that are available but can't be booked because of the minimum stay.

If a room type has several units, a gap only exists when one unit with a gap is free and all others are occupied.

The gap filler has its own price, which can be higher, lower or the same as your normal price.

Set up a gap filler

Prerequisites: the gap filler doesn't work with the strategy Do not allow lower prices or shorter stays. The minimum stay in Settings > Properties > Rooms > Setup must be the same as or lower than in the gap filler, and there must be no higher minimum stays entered manually in the Calendar.

Steps:

  1. Go to Prices > Fixed Prices and add a Fixed Price.
  2. In the Summary tab, set Restriction Strategy to Gap Fill.
  3. Set the minimum and maximum stay for the gaps you want to sell (see the examples below) and the price.

Expected result: gaps of that length become bookable at the gap filler price.
