Send Paypal Payment Request

Send guests a PayPal payment request from an Auto Action email, with a PayPal link, button or your own PayPal payment form. The payment goes to the PayPal email address you enter in Settings > Payments > Payment Gateways > Paypal.

Tip: If you've connected an integrated payment gateway, you can also send a payment request that shows all your payment options: see Payment request links and parameters.

Quick Guide

  1. Enter your PayPal email address in Settings > Payments > Payment Gateways > Paypal.
  2. Create an Auto Action in Settings > Guest Management > Auto Actions.
  3. In the Messaging tab, click Edit and add a PayPal template variable, or a custom PayPal form.
  1. Go to Settings > Payments > Payment Gateways > Paypal and enter the PayPal email address that should receive the payment.
  2. Go to Settings > Guest Management > Auto Actions and create an Auto Action. A template is available that you can customise.
  3. In the Messaging tab, click Edit and enter your text with one of the variables below.
Variable Creates Amount requested
[PAYPALLINK] Clickable PayPal payment link (HTML A tag) The booking's deposit field if it isn't zero, otherwise the outstanding balance
[PAYPALLINK:25%] PayPal payment link (HTML A tag) A percentage of the outstanding balance. Use 100% for the full outstanding balance.
[PAYPALLINK:200] PayPal payment link (HTML A tag) A fixed amount. With 0, PayPal shows a field to enter an amount.
[PAYPALURL] PayPal payment URL The booking's deposit field if it isn't zero, otherwise the outstanding balance
[PAYPALURL:25%] PayPal payment URL A percentage of the outstanding balance
[PAYPALURL:200] PayPal payment URL A fixed amount. With 0, PayPal shows a field to enter an amount.

Send a PayPal button

Set up the Auto Action as for the link, and use a button variable in the Messaging tab. Buttons aren't recommended for emails: some email programs deactivate the button, so the payment screen can't open.

Variable Amount requested
[PAYPALBUTTON] The booking's deposit field if it isn't zero, otherwise the outstanding balance
[PAYPALBUTTON:25%] A percentage of the outstanding balance
[PAYPALBUTTON:200] A fixed amount. With 0, PayPal shows a field to enter an amount.

Send a custom PayPal payment form

With a custom form, Beds24 can calculate the deposit amount automatically from the price of the booking. Some email programs deactivate forms, as with buttons.

Prerequisites: knowledge of HTML.

  1. Go to Settings > Guest Management > Auto Actions and create an Auto Action.
  2. In the Messaging tab, click Edit, then Source code.
  3. Paste the form and replace the example values (see the table below).

Example for a request to pay a 50% deposit:

<p>The deposit amount is &euro; [INVOICEBALANCENUM:50%]<br>
<br>
The remaining balance of &euro; [INVOICEBALANCENUM:50%] can be paid
at your arrival at [PROPERTYNAME].</p>
