Beds24 can send the guest name, email address, language and booking number of selected bookings to a Mailchimp audience. An Auto Action decides which bookings are sent.
Quick Guide
- In Mailchimp, create an API key and copy the unique ID of your audience.
- In Settings > Guest Management > Auto Actions, create an Auto Action with Trigger Action = automatic that selects the bookings to send.
- In Settings > Marketplace > Mailchimp, select the Auto Action, enter the API key and list ID, and tick the rooms.
What the integration does
Beds24 sends this booking data to Mailchimp:
- email address
- first name
- last name
- booking ID
- guest language (when a 2-character language code is defined)
Bookings are sent when the room is enabled, the booking has an email address and the booking meets the trigger conditions of the selected Auto Action. If the email address changes, you need to update it manually in Mailchimp.
Connect Mailchimp
You need: an account with Mailchimp. For Beds24, the normal channel manager fees apply.
Step 1: Get your Mailchimp details
- Sign in to Mailchimp.
- Go to Account > Extras > API Keys and create an API key.
- Go to Audience > Manage Audience > Settings and copy the unique ID of the audience you want to send to.
Step 2: Select the bookings to send
Go to Settings > Guest Management > Auto Actions and set up an Auto Action that selects the bookings to send to Mailchimp. Set Trigger Action = automatic.
Step 3: Connect in Beds24
- Go to Settings > Marketplace > Mailchimp.
- In Auto Action to specify bookings to send, select the Auto Action ID from the list.
- Enter the Mailchimp API key.
- Enter the Mailchimp list ID (without the full stop at the end).
- Tick the rooms you want to send bookings for. Only bookings from rooms enabled for Mailchimp that meet the trigger conditions in the Auto Action are sent.
Expected result: matching bookings are added to your Mailchimp audience.
Newsletter opt-in
In Settings > Properties > Booking Questions, you can add a custom booking question (compulsory tick box). If you need it, add a link to your privacy policy, for example <a href="http://www.mywebsite.com/privacy">Privacy policy</a>. Replace www.mywebsite.com/privacy with the link to your privacy policy.
Disconnect Mailchimp
- Untick Bookings to stop sending bookings.
- In Mailchimp, go to Account > Extras > API Keys and deactivate the API key.
