Set up a dorm or other shared room as one room per dorm, with the quantity set to the number of beds and one unit allocated per guest. Guests then book beds, and you price them per person.
Quick Guide
- In Settings > Properties > Rooms, add a room for each dorm.
- In Settings > Properties > Rooms > Setup, set Quantity of This Type and Maximum Guests to the number of beds, Accommodation Type = Dorm and Unit Allocation = One per Guest.
- Set per-person prices with Daily Prices or Fixed Prices.
- If you sell beds on channels, check the channel pricing requirements.

Step 1: Set up your rooms
- Go to Settings > Properties > Rooms and add a room for each dorm you have.
- Go to Settings > Properties > Rooms > Setup and set:
- Quantity of This Type = the number of beds in this dorm.
- If you don't offer a special children price: Maximum Adults = Use Guests and Maximum Children = Dont Ask.
- Maximum Guests = the number of beds you have.
- Collect Number of Guests = Yes.
- Display Name for Dorm = optionally, a name to show on the booking page, in all activated languages.
- Accommodation Type = Dorm.
- Set Unit Allocation = One per Guest.
Step 2: Set your prices
Using Daily Prices
Go to Prices > Daily Price Rules and create the daily prices for the number of guests who can book, then enter the prices in the Calendar.

Using Fixed Prices
Go to Prices > Fixed Prices, click Add Fixed Prices and enter your bed price per night in both Single Price and Extra Person.
A booking for one person is offered the single price, a booking for two people the single plus the extra person price, a booking for three people the single plus two extra person prices, and so on.
Offer the whole dorm at a discounted price
Set the price for the whole dorm as Room Price for Max Room Capacity.
Discounted price for children
Enter the children's price in Extra Child. Then go to Settings > Properties > Rooms and set Maximum Adults and Maximum Children to the maximum you allow in this dorm.
Manage bookings
- For online bookings with several beds, Beds24 creates a group booking: one master booking with the invoice for all beds, and linked individual bookings for each bed. See Group Bookings.
- When you add a dorm booking manually, assign a free bed with the Unit selector in the Summary tab of the booking. For several beds, use the Allocate button.
Channel pricing requirements

Airbnb, Per Day Pricing
- Settings > Properties > Description > Property Type = Hostel.

- Property Type Group = boutique_hotels_and_more
- Listing Type = Shared room
- Bathroom Shared = one of the options with a shared bathroom (it can't be private)
- Settings > Channel Manager > Airbnb > Specific Content > Pricing: Guests Included = 1, Extra Person Price = the same value as the price in the Calendar.
- Settings > Channel Manager > Airbnb > Mapping > Sync Type = Everything.
Tip: Airbnb sends ONE booking for the total number of guests, which blocks the inventory. The booking looks as if all guests are in the same bed, but the inventory shows the correct number. To see individual bookings, copy the Airbnb booking and create a group booking.
Airbnb, Per Occupancy Pricing
- Settings > Properties > Description > Property Type = Hostel.
- Settings > Channel Manager > Airbnb > Specific Content > Listing Details: Property Type Group = boutique_hotels_and_more, Listing Type = Shared room, Bathroom Shared = one of the options with a shared bathroom (it can't be private).
Note: With Per Occupancy Pricing, Airbnb doesn't limit the number of guests based on the inventory Beds24 sends.
HostelsClub and Hostelworld private rooms
- Private Room: Daily Price Price For = Max Occupancy. The guest pays the bed price multiplied by the number of beds in the private room.
- Number of Beds: select the number of beds in the room if it differs from the maximum number of guests. A double bed counts as 1 bed, not 2 to match the number of guests.
