Connect Flipkey to Beds24 with iCal to send your availability and import bookings, cancellations and date changes. Flipkey customers with 10 or more listings could also use an XML connection that sends content, availability and prices, but Tripadvisor is ending it: for a new connection, use Tripadvisor Rentals.

iCal connection

Capabilities and limitations

  • Beds24 exports inventory for up to 12 months in a calendar file. Flipkey checks it for updates as often as Flipkey decides.
  • Beds24 imports bookings, cancellations and date changes.
  • Beds24 only sends a room price. Single and double prices are ignored.
  • Bookings imported by iCal have limited information, usually only the guest name, number of guests, booking number and dates.
  • Beds24 can only reopen dates it blocked. Dates blocked in Flipkey manually or by other synchronised calendars can't be reopened by Beds24.
  • Sign in to Flipkey regularly to answer your enquiries.

Before you connect

  • Beds24 doesn't send prices, but you need valid prices in Beds24 so it can send availability.
  • If you have room types with a quantity above one on other channels, set up virtual rooms.

Set up the iCal connection

  1. In Beds24, go to Settings > Channel Manager > Flipkey and tick the Synchronise Inventory and Bookings boxes for the rooms.
  2. Copy the URL shown at Calendar (Inventory).
  3. Sign in to Flipkey and go to the calendar menu Sync with other calendars.
  4. Select calendar type Other and give the calendar a name for your reference.
  5. Paste the Beds24 calendar URL into Flipkey.
  6. In Flipkey, go to Export Your Calendar and copy the iCal URL.
  7. In Beds24, paste the Flipkey URL into Export Calendar (Bookings) and click Save.

Expected result: Flipkey blocks the dates you have booked in Beds24, and Beds24 imports new Flipkey bookings.

Note: Flipkey doesn't reopen dates that other sources blocked in its calendar. Set these dates to available manually in the Flipkey calendar. If the sync works but is out of date because of many blocked dates, set all dates in Flipkey to available and click Sync Now in Sync with other calendars.

XML connection (10 or more listings)

Note: Tripadvisor is ending this XML interface. For a new connection, use Tripadvisor Rentals in Settings > Channel Manager > Tripadvisor Rentals.

Beds24 provides XML data that Flipkey reads regularly to update your Flipkey calendar.

Capabilities and limitations

  • Beds24 exports listing content, inventory and prices, and can apply a multiplier to the prices.
  • Beds24 can't import bookings, because the Flipkey XML doesn't provide them. To import bookings, also set up the iCal connection with the Flipkey export calendar URL.
  • Sign in to Flipkey regularly to answer your enquiries.

How listings map

  • A Flipkey listing is a room in Beds24. Where Flipkey asks for a property_id, use the Beds24 room ID.
  • All rooms visible in the account can be sent, including rooms in properties linked from other accounts.
  • The listing name is the property name for properties with one room type, and property name - room name for properties with more.

Set up the XML connection

  1. In Settings > Channel Manager > Flipkey, tick Inventory and Bookings.
  2. Note the XML getproperties endpoint shown in the settings, and the getavailability endpoint for each calendar.
  3. In Settings > Channel Manager > Flipkey > Content Data, check that the content Beds24 sends is correct. See Listing content.
  4. Email pmsupport@tripadvisor.com with the XML endpoints and the Flipkey listing ID for each, and ask them to connect your calendars to the endpoints.
  5. To activate, tick Inventory in Settings > Channel Manager > Flipkey.

Expected result: once Tripadvisor connects you, Flipkey reads the XML endpoints regularly and updates your calendar.

Listing content for the XML connection

Bedrooms, bathrooms and amenities

Set up bedrooms, bathrooms and amenities for the property in Settings > Properties > Description, or per room in Settings > Properties > Rooms > Set Up. Property settings apply to all rooms in the property, so use them for what all rooms share, and room settings for what only one room has. Don't enter the same item in both.

  • Example: all units have one bedroom, one bathroom and Wi-Fi. Set them up once in Settings > Properties > Description.
  • Example: one unit has one bedroom and another has two, or only one unit has Wi-Fi. Set them up per room in Settings > Properties > Rooms > Set Up.

These are feature codes in the Features field:

  1. Click Edit next to the Features field.
  2. In the pop-up, click Bedroom, Bathroom or Amenities.
  3. For bedrooms and bathrooms, set the type and use the selectors to define the features in each room. Define every bedroom and bathroom. If you have more than 2, click Close and Save: Beds24 adds more rooms the next time you click Edit.
  4. For amenities, tick the amenities you provide.
  5. Close the pop-up and click Save.

Flipkey doesn't support every Beds24 feature. See Flipkey feature codes, where you can also type codes in by hand.

Prices, fees and currency

  • Prices: daily prices or rates with the Flipkey channel ticked and set as offer 1 are sent, if they are for the full room occupancy. Beds24 sends one room price per night and a minimum stay. If there are prices for several minimum stays, the one for the shortest stay is sent.
  • Multiplier: enter * and the amount, for example *1.1 to raise prices by 10% or *0.9 to lower them by 10%. See Price multiplier.
  • Currency: if Tripadvisor needs a different currency from your Beds24 currency, use the Currency setting and the multiplier.
  • Fees: enter fees per property as upsell items set to a compulsory value. All percentage upsell items for the property are included, except those set to refundable.
  • Pictures: choose which pictures are sent in Settings > Channel Manager > Flipkey > Specific Content.

Check the content

  1. Go to Settings > Channel Manager > Flipkey > Content, or click View content sent to Flipkey.
  2. Check that the information is correct and complete. Use the links on the page to update it.
  3. To see the raw data, click View actual data sent to Flipkey.

Note: if your listing doesn't meet the minimum requirements, Flipkey may reject all data Beds24 sends.

Flipkey feature codes

You can type these codes into the Features field exactly as shown. To list features inside a room, add them after the room code, separated by spaces. You can add several rooms.

Disconnect Flipkey

  1. Untick Inventory in Settings > Channel Manager > Flipkey.
  2. If you entered a Beds24 calendar URL in Flipkey, sign in to Flipkey and remove it.
