Guarantee a channel a fixed number of rooms (an allotment) with two linked rooms in Beds24: one for your booking page and one for the channel. To only cap how many bookings a channel can take, use Channel Inventory instead.
Set up an allotment for a channel
Example: you have 5 double rooms and guarantee channel A 2 of them.
Room for your booking page:
- In Settings > Properties > Rooms > Setup, set Quantity = 3.
- In Settings > Properties > Rooms > Dependencies, set Requires Availability = the room for the channel.
- Leave all other settings at their defaults.
Room for the channel:
- In Settings > Properties > Rooms > Setup, set Quantity = 5.
- In Settings > Properties > Rooms > Setup, set Sell Priority = Hide, so the room doesn't show on your booking page.
- In Settings > Properties > Rooms > Dependencies, set Include Bookings = the room for your booking page.
- Leave all other settings at their defaults and map this room to the channel.
Expected result: your booking page sells at most 3 rooms, so 2 always stay available for channel A. The channel can also sell rooms your booking page hasn't sold.
Important Notes
- Test dependencies thoroughly to make sure your setup follows your rules.
- Connecting one physical room to a channel more than once risks overbookings.
